The events of this past year have taken a toll with lives lost and our paths changed forever. We all hope for a light at the end of the tunnel. Yet, it is worthwhile to reflect on our recent experiences with tea and nature as our guides and companions. Let us shift inward to connect with our inner homes and seek the inner peace from which the future can grow.

We are seeking works to exhibit at our Nature Tea events in 2021 that speak to the shared experience of this troubled time. While we prefer works we can show at our Nature Tea events, virtual submissions will be considered as well. Nature Tea 2021 will continue to facilitate the conversations between nature and ourselves through tea in a fast paced and shapeshifting world. We are seeking works that answer one or more of the following questions:

• What do you want to share about your observations of nature over the course of the last year? 

• What did you see or experience in the past year that has led you to ponder or create? 

• How has tea impacted and inspired you during this time?

We will include selected works in our series of outdoor events in the spring, summer, and fall to showcase observations of and reflections on the past year.

Our Nature Tea 2021 is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC). 

All disciplines and creative mediums are welcome. We are looking for projects that contain an interactive or experiential aspect.

Prize: $300-$600 for each project, materials included
