The event will follow the health guidelines of safety practices during COVID-19 to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved. Our healthcare advisor will oversee the details throughout the planning stage and be on-site as well to monitor the event on the day.

Reflections in Tea

with Michele Brody at Bronx Park

Lives and works in The Bronx as a mixed-media environmental and community-based Artist, practicing since 1994 throughout NYC, the US, and abroad. Reflections in Tea: A Mobile Teahouse is an interactive community-based public art project inspired by the worldwide tradition of drinking and sharing tea. (15-minutes one-on-one).

Virtual Tea Hangout

Patio Tea Meditation (virtual)

Staying at home for our virtual sessions? Get started with a serene morning of tea plus guided meditation. Tea educator and MoJoosh friend, Suzette Hammond of Being Tea, will lead a nature-connected practice from her patio in Chicago. Come share fresh air and peaceful contemplation from your own patio or open window! Just bring your favorite small mug or tea bowl, plus hot water and loose leaf tea of choice (white, green and lighter oolongs are perfect for summer).

Sound Bath (virtual)

Join us for a sonic experience to relax, release, and recharge! Discover the healing power of sound. The journey begins with a brief introduction to the world of sound therapy, followed by a guided meditation and soothing sound bath by Divine J9.

An intuitive energy medicine practitioner, Divine J9 plays high vibration instruments including crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, and Koshi chimes to create frequencies that activate your body's innate healing, while clearing and rebalancing your chakras (energy centers).

Morning Tea at Prospect Park

This will be a participatory moving meditation. Guests will be guided throughout so they can both sit peacefully and actively participate. The traditional ceremony will be adapted to be contactless while still holding space for us to connect, enjoy tea, and be together in nature. Limited space and bring your own bowl if you can.

Ikebana in Nature

Studying Sogetsu ikebana since 2015 with Mrs. Fumiko Allinder, a long-established teacher who learned directly from the founder of Sogetsu school Sofu Teshigahara, Kristina finds great solace in ikebana and loves sharing her appreciation of this timeless art.

(45-minutes in a small group)

Tea House Project

Artist and tea lover, creator of the Wild Lily Tea Room in Chelsea in 1997-2006, sole adventurist in the world of art and tea. Tea House Project is creating one-on-one live experience through the artistry of tea and calligraphy.

Wood and Earth

GGrippo is an artist, designer, and craftsman working in Brooklyn and Bovina, New York. Wood and Earth is an art project created during the quarantine. One set of this small collection is donated to the event to fund for future outdoor community tea projects.

Squish

Squish is a continuing assembly of sets of 12 snuggling handmade ceramic tea cups which are gently squished together when the clay is still soft so that each cup is shaped by its neighbors, which, in turn, are also shaped by their neighbors time. 12 lucky participants of Summer Tea, including both virtual and onsite ones, will become owners of one of these cups.
