The moments when the brush gets in contact with the paper is like when leaves contact the water to make the tea. It calls for our awareness of mind and body and reflects the different states of us. We are practicing not only the artistry of calligraphy but also training our minds during this process.
Artist and tea lover, creator of the Wild Lily Tea Room in Chelsea in 1997-2006, sole adventurist in the world of art and tea…Ines has incorporated tea and calligraphy in her installation, the teahouse project-TianDiChaWu, to explore how one's mind can be led to a higher consciousness through the ritual of tea and calligraphy.
